When should I RSVP by?
Please let us know by May 15th if you can be a part of our day!
Is there Transportation to / from the Wedding?
We will have pick ups from the Hotel to take guests to the venue, and return trips in the evening as well. Please let the bride know if you plan to arrange your own transportation. Note that the road to Camp Hale takes 30-40 minutes from Vail, has very limited reception, and is very windy. It can be dangerous driving these unfamiliar roads in the dark, and especially if you will be drinking at the reception we ask that you please do not drive yourself!
Can I bring my kids to the wedding?
We wish we could include all children and love all of your little ones, but we are only able to extend invitations to children for immediate family. Unfortunately, Camp Hale is not a super kid-friendly venue (it has a steep drop-off into the lake and gets very dark at night). If you do bring your kid(s) to Vail for the weekend, there are several babysitting services available to you for the wedding night. Please also see the FAQ about no cell service and WiFi as you evaluate your options.
Can I bring a plus one?
The RSVP will provide information if you were given a plus one. If there is anyone that we might have overlooked, please let us know.
Is there anything I need to know about the venue?
Everything is outdoors, with the reception in an open air tent. The property is mostly grass until the reception, so we recommend wedges or heal savers for stilettos. Don't forget to wear sunscreen, as the Colorado sun can be strong. The tent is heated and has flooring, so you will be very comfortable inside it. One final thing to be mindful of at Camp Hale: there is no cell service or Wi-Fi, so for the wedding night, you will be completely off the grid! Please plan accordingly, especially those with dogs and/or kids back in the Village as it is a 30-40 minute drive to Camp Hale.
What is the weather like in Vail in July?
The weather is sunny and mild! The average temperature in Vail in July is 74 degrees.
Give me the scoop on the Altitude
Vail is located at an elevation of 8,150 ft, and our venue is at 9,200 ft. For our friends and family from out of state, that's a pretty significant jump from sea level. If you fly in a day before the wedding and have time to acclimate to Denver altitude (5,280'), this will make the transition much easier. Be sure to hydrate lots, don't attempt any overly strenuous hikes, and take time to rest if you start feeling lightheaded. We will definitely have plenty of water available when you arrive at the venue! Please make sure to keep very hydrated and look for signs of altitude sickness. Liquid IV's or other electrolyte drinks and canned oxygen can be very helpful as well. Your golf balls and alcohol go much further here - be careful!
