Ansley and John met in 2020 during the peak of COVID. After leaving NYC during the shutdown and then living with her parents for 2 months, Ansley and her friend decided to rent an Airbnb in Denver for a month. They ended up loving Denver so much they decided to extend their stay, and Ansley downloaded Bumble because she wanted to make friends, and how else can you do so in a global pandemic. Ansley and John first met at Cilantro for margaritas and queso, and to Ansley's absolute delight, John told her that he lived in a Bachelor Pad with 5 of his best friends. He also informed her that he was an expert raft guide. At the end of the night, she told him that she wanted to see him and his friends again, and that rafting was a must!

Ansley and John kept hanging out casually, watching movies at the bachelor pad or getting coffee in Old Town Arvada. After about a month of hangouts, John finally decided to take her rafting at the Royal Gorge (the photo above was from that trip and their first photo together). And good thing he did, because after that trip she decided he was cool enough to keep around. As hangouts turned into actual dates, their friendship grew stronger, and Ansley's month-long Airbnb hopping turned into an actual lease. By January 2021, they both agreed that distance must make the heart grow fonder, because John went on a 30-day Grand Canyon Rafting Trip in December ...and dropped his phone in the river.

After that trip, they knew their relationship was meant for the long haul. In June of 2021 they got their first puppy, Sir Rockefeller (Rocky) and in June of 2023 they got the second addition to the family, Teton. Both dogs have taught them about working together as a team and staying patient (with both each other and the pups).

While their relationship became more serious, their sense of adventure and love of a good time never ceased. From hiking, skiing, rafting or just cooking together, JT always keeps Ansley on her toes and reminds her not to take herself too seriously. And from hopping the Beltline in Atlanta, biking across the Williamsburg Bridge in New York, getting John SCUBA certified in Mexico (feel free to ask him how that went), Ansley always keeps John excited for what's next and reminds him how big the world truly is.

We cannot wait to continue our lives together, and we are so excited to party with y’all.
